The Blackrock Caverns dungeon is located within Blackrock Mountain on the border of Burning Steppes and Searing Gorge. The winding caverns are inhabited by elementals, members of the Twilight's Hammer, and their monstrous experiments. Several deadly foes and some of the most dangerous lieutenants among the cult's ranks lurk throughout Blackrock Caverns as the Twilight's Hammer continues their twisted experiments.
Located in the mines beneath Moonbrook in Westfall, The Deadmines is the Defias Brotherhood’s most secure hideout location. The survivors of Edwin VanCleef’s crew, along with some new recruits, use this base of operations to complete the Defias Juggernaut ship for their planned assault on Stormwind.
The cursed halls of Grim Batol in western Twilight Highlands have been reclaimed by the Twilight Hammer, Deathwing, and the Old Gods. The cult’s armies are numberless and defenses seemingly impenetrable, but members of the Red Dragonflight and Earthen Ring rely on the help of Azeroth’s bravest adventurers to rescue their kin and slay some of the Twilight Hammer’s strongest generals.
The Halls of Origination dungeon is a massive structure located between the river in Uldum and the eastern coast. The Halls of Origination once served as a Titan research facility thousands of years ago that was used for the development of new races, such as the Tol’vir. There is rumored to be a deadly, secret weapon hidden within the Halls of Origination, though Deathwing has yet to claim it for their onslaught against Azeroth.
The Lost City of the Tol'vir is home to the Neferset, a group of cursed Tol'vir contentiously associated with Deathwing. Much time has passed since the Tol'vir strayed from the purpose of safeguarding research was given to them by their creators, the Titans. This dungeon's strong presence of beasts makes it an excellent place for Skinning Skinning.
The imposing castle of Shadowfang Keep that once served as the Worgen’s entry point to Azeroth is now home to lords and soldiers of undeath. Those brave enough to venture into this forsaken stronghold will face ghouls, ghosts, and feral beasts wielding dark magic and an unholy arsenal.
Located in the Temple of Earth at the center of Deepholm's craggy terrain, The Stonecore served as the starting point for Deathwing's ascension. The Stonecore is now home to elemental monstrosities and Twilight's Hammer cultists, and adventurers brave enough to traverse its caverns will need to fight their way through gyreworms, giants, and dragonkin before facing High Priestess Azil.
The Throne of the Tides, resting within the Abyssal Maw underneath the Abyssal Depths, is overrun by vicious Naga and monstrous N'raqi, creatures formed from remnants of the Old Gods' corrupted forms. Adventurers looking to enter the long, winding corridors of this undersea palace will face the deranged monstrosities and dark horrors that plot beneath the waves.
The Vortex Pinnacle is a beautiful series of floating structures resting amongst the clouds of Skywall over Uldum, though its population consists of dangerous armies of elementals and hostile commanders of the Neferset Tol'vir. The treacherous Vortex Pinnacle is particularly enticing to adventurers as the second boss, Altairus, drops the Reins of the Drake of the North Wind Reins of the Drake of the North Wind mount.
Zul'Aman, a troll fortress nestled in Ghostlands, was formerly ruled by Amani Chieftain Zul'jin. Following Zul'Jin's demise, Warlord of the Amani forest trolls Daakara assumed control of the temple city. Formerly a 10-player raid for level 70s, the release of Phase 2 of Cataclysm Classic sees the zone reworked into a heroic-only 5-player dungeon for level 85. The instance has kept much of its unique flair, including Mojo Mojo, Amani Hex Stick Amani Hex Stick, and the timed run. There is even a similar mount, the Amani Battle Bear Amani Battle Bear.
Zul'Gurub, formerly a fan-favorite level 60 raid, has seen some significant changes in Cataclysm - what was once a 20-man raid is now a heroic-only 5 person dungeon tuned for players level 85. Located in Northern Stranglethorn, Zul'Gurub feels thematically very similar to its previous iteration, with bands of trolls, packs of wildlife, and various worshippers of their Blood God, Hakkar. Additionally, some of the old band has gotten back together again in Cataclysm - High Priest Venoxis, Bloodlord Mandokir, and Jin'do the Godbreaker, to name a few.
